NOTICE OF AVAILABILITY FOR PUBLIC REVIEW AND NOTICE OF INTENT TO ADOPT A MITIGATED NEGATIVE DECLARATION FOR THE AT&T NEVADA UNION HIGH SCHOOL USE PERMIT PROJECT (PLN20-0051; CUP20-0003; EIS21-0001) NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the County of Nevada, as a lead agency, is circulating for public review a Draft Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration (IS/MND) in accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) for the proposed AT&T Nevada Union High School Use Permit Project. PROJECT LOCATION: 11645 Ridge Road, within the Nevada Joint Union High School District Campus located approximately 0.5 miles northeast of the intersection of Ridge Road and Sierra College Drive in the unincorporated area of Western Nevada County. Assessor Parcel Number: 035-250-001. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Adoption of a Mitigated Negative Declaration for the AT&T Use Permit. The project is an application for a Conditional Use Permit (CUP20-0003) proposing the construction and operation of a new unmanned wireless telecommunication facility. The proposed project would include the installation of an unmanned 155-foot tall Monopine telecommunication tower and equipment facility with nine (9) panel antennas and twenty-one (21) remote radio units located within a proposed approximately 400-square-foot fenced AT&T lease area (40 feet by 40 feet) with a 12-foot wide access gate. The proposed ground equipment would be located within a proposed 440-square-foot lease area (22 feet by 20 feet) that would be located approximately 120 feet north east of the proposed monopine lease area and would contain the ground equipment. The ground equipment lease area would be fenced with a 13-foot tall concrete masonry block wall enclosure that would contain a sound blanket located within the enclosure and which would contain a 12-foot wide access gate. PUBLIC REVIEW: As a lead agency, in accordance with CEQA, Nevada County is distributing the Draft IS/MND to interested public and regulatory authorities for review and comment. Nevada County is inviting comments and concerns regarding the IS/MND during the public review period spanning May 18, 2021 to June 7, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. Final action on the proposed MND will be taken by the Nevada County Zoning Administrator after the completion of the public review period at a duly noticed public hearing on a date to be determined.
